DAVE CHISOLM
Guitars & Vocals
By age 12 and after two years of piano lessons that almost killed his
interest in music, Dave hadn't really given much thought to playing the
guitar until he started hearing the likes of Gypsy Suns and Rainbows and
The Funkadelics. He became fascinated with what the instrument could
do in different hands. At age 14 he got his first electric guitar by
assembling parts he was given (good thing nobody told him he didn't know
enough to do it right) and taught himself to play. Dave started his
first band, Free Spirit at 15, playing rock and R&B. He played in a
number of bands until he got married at age 19. He stopped playing for a few years to
raise a family, but he kept a loose hold on his sanity by playing bass in a
top 40 band for about 10 years.
Dave got his Tokai Stratocaster (the "Old
Man") in 1992 and ignited the fever again. By 1994, he was in his first
blues band, singing and playing guitar through the Fender Bassman 10 he
used with the top 40 band. A few years and a few bands later, Dave found
himself starting the new millennium with a new band, The Dave Chisolm
Band.
He's rounded out his musical arsenal by adding a Fender Blues Junior Amp and a Tokai Telecaster
(his "Little Girl"). He'll dance with "the Little Girl" during some of the
songs, but Dave and "The Old Man" share a deep understanding and have a
heart to heart talk during every show. You're all invited to come hear
what they have to say.
